Zoom Phone is cloud-based business phone system developed by Zoom which enables users to
make calls from personal computers, desk phones, Zoom Rooms, and cell phones (via the Zoom
mobile app). Bring Your Own Carrier for short BYOC refers to an enterprise telephony connectivity
architecture that allows for flexibility when migrating to cloud telephony solutions.
HOW THEY WORK?
There are two main ways to facilitate BYOC with Zoom Phone, via the public internet or a private
direct connection. In our scenario, we use the Session Border Controller (Ring2Zoom) to redirect the
SIP trunks to Zoom Phone’s cloud PBX.
